Request for Funds

Alhamdulillah with the help of all the brothers and sisters from all over New Zealand, Australia, Saudi Arabia and the rest of the world we have been able to raise over NZ $200,000. In the 1st phase we acquired the property of 31 Fairview Avenue at a cost of NZ$ 121,000. Now, Alhamdulillah, we are in the 2nd phase carrying necessary construction to meet the city council requirement for changing the status of the property from a dwelling to a community centre. In the 3rd phase, we will develop the wudu area and other facilities to make it a proper Masjid inshAllah. Here is the summary of what is currently happening:

  1. As of 1st May, 2010, SMA fund balance is NZ $111,250.70.
  2. contract has been awarded to Howden Construction Pty Ltd at the cost of NZ $84,037.50 (inc. GST).
  3. Work has already commenced from the 27th of April.
  4. We are expecting to finish work in 10-12 weeks time.
  5. We will require more funds for the 3rd phase (to develop the wudu as well as other facilities).
  6. On the current estimation, we need to raise approximately NZ $100,000.
